Since 1995, I started listening to country music. I never did until then, to listened to country music that is. Before then I was at a low point in my life and listening to heavy metal stuff. (I don't listen to it anymore!) I had two people that were close to me die. I wasn't very happy about life then. Until one day in 1995, I scanned through the radio stations and came across a voice. This voice affected me deeply somehow. She sounded like she loved music and really got into it. I had to find out who sang that song, which was "Any man of Mine." Finally a month or so later, I found out who sanged it and it was Shania Twain. When I saw her picture, she had this beauty, which was great to practice drawing with. I come from a family of artistic people. So, I decided to draw her to improve my talents. She inspired me so much with her music that it changed me forever. I had more confidence in myself, accomplish some of my dreams from childhood, and helped increase my drawing talent. When I read her biography, I found out in a lot of ways we had similiar experiences. Like her family situation of never having enough money to get a lot of things. Things like not having a lunch every day sometimes for school and different other experiences like she had. She gave me strength to believe that life wasn't so bad and things will get better. This gave me a lot of respect and admiration for Shania. In 1997, I entered a contest in my community. It was for the "City of Concord Status of Women". I was entered in the 9th - 12th grades section. I won 3rd prize for the drawing of Shania in the "1997 Women's History Month Poster Contest, "Portrait of a Woman I Know and Admire." (The one I'm holding in my hands.) I was excited to win such an honor for the portrait. I wanted win 1st for me and Shania, but I was glad I got to win 3rd. Because Shania is the best, ever! After that contest I kept up my drawing. I wanted to post other pictures as well of Shania Twain on here since then. I didn't want to put this on here to brag. Only to brag about Shania Twain. She helped me to turn my life around and to be happy again. That help me also in the department of guys and helped them to respect me. That's why I love "Any man of Mine!!" She has affected a lot of people with her voice and beauty, in a good way. I went to 2 of her concerts, she knows how to party and also to tell her thanks for her music and to have my pictures autographed. Couldn't get to see her backstage because she already left. Oh, well I'll try to catch her next time. I also wanted to say that Matt is doing a wonderful job for shania.net. It's one of the few that are the best for Shania Twain websites. Keep up the great work Matt and thank you for a great website! Shania Twain is crowned "Queen of Country" in my book! Don't care about what other people think of her on that topic. As well as one of the most beautifil women on this Earth!! Shania.net is crowned for the "Best Shania Twain Website!!!" I can't wait until Shania comes to my town area! Country rocks!!! Matt your the best!

Sincerely,

Marie Krause - Pleasant Hill, California
