Grammy Nominations
01/04/2001 - The Grammy nominees have been announced and as some might expect, Shania did not earn any nominations. This is likely the result of spending all of 2000 off the road and out of the spotlight. Hopefully by this time next year we will be able to announce numerous nominations for Shania! The 2001 Grammy awards will be held February 21.

Shania Still Holding Worldwide
01/04/2001 - Shania's Come On Over album came in at the 14th spot on the CNN year-end Global Top 100 albums of 2000. Although being over 3 years old Shania's still holding strong overseas!

Hill Takes Peoples Choice
01/07/2001 - Earlier tonight at the People's Choice Awards, Faith Hill won the award for Female Musical Performer beating out Britney Spears and last year's winner Shania Twain. The awards which honor the television, movie and music industry and were voted on by more than 200 million Americans.
 A Celeb Fan Favorite
01/15/2001 - Among all of Shania's millions of fans, quite a few of those are some big names in the Entertainment business. Some of those who are fans of Shania's include: Britney Spears who has her listed as a role model, Jessica Simpson said that she "...jams to Shania Twain..." before going out on stage, Toni Braxton said she'd love to do a duet with her, Lance Bass of NSync went to one of her concerts, and after the CMA's they partied together (with the rest of the group), Backstreet Boys said they'd love to do a studio duet with her (This was after the Winter Break duet), Drew Lachey of 98 Degrees said he'd like to do a duet with her as well, Reba, Lila McCann, Celine Dion, Aaron Carter, Rosie O'Donnell, Ronan Kieting (who recorded an unreleased version of FTMO with her), Dolly Parton, Jo Dee Messina, Lee Ann Womack, Faith Hill among many others are also big fans.
Overshadowing Success
01/19/2001 - Dolly Parton, someone Shania has great respect for as a musician has said that her level of success in country music in the last few years has hampered by the success of younger artists like Shania. Dolly's foray into bluegrass came at a time when she was getting little airplay on country radio. Although she's a Nashville legend, younger acts like Faith Hill, Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks have been hitting the charts and getting more attention. It's an experience she has described as "frustrating but understandable."

Still Soaring Down Under
01/20/2001 - According to the Country Music Association of Australia, Shania's Come On Over album has sold over a million copies in Australia. As of October 2000 Come On Over had sold over 1,050,000 copies(15xPlatinum in Australia, where 70,000 equals platinum status). Shania whose 98-99 world tour included stops in Australia for a few shows shows no signs of slowing down, down under!
NRJ Awards
01/22/2001 - Shania, nominated twice in the French NRJ Music Awards came up short in both categories in which she was nominated. Madonna won the awards for Best International Singer and International album with her "Music" album. Better luck next time Shania!
 New Book... In French
01/22/2001 - Wanna read the latest book on Shania Twain? You better know French! Dallas Williams, the author who wrote the book titled "On My Way" has released a Shania Twain book in French. Likely the same as "On My Way" but in French, the book can be purchased online at Amazon.fr.

01/25/2001 - The Shania Auctions continue with Washington DC Country Radio Station, WMZQ raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. One of the items up for bids is an autographed Shania Twain Double Diamond Award Electric Guitar from her 1999 world tour. Bidding starts at $250 and will end February 2nd.

Juno Nominees
01/25/2001 - Shania and husband Mutt Lange eached picked up a nomination as the 2001 Juno Awards nominees were announced yesterday. Shania is up for Best Female Country Artist and Mutt is nominated for Best Songwriter for co-writing Bryan Adam's "The Best Of Me."
Leading all nominees was singer Nelly Furtado who earned six nominations followed by the Barenaked Ladies with five. The awards which honor Canadian artists will be awarded March 4th at the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario.
