Contest to Name Shania Centre
11/20/2000 - Residents of Timmins are being asked to help name their newest tourist attraction, The Shania Centre. Since the start of the project, city officials referred to it as The Shania Twain Interpretive Centre. Some people liked that name for it but others were confused by the name, saying: what's an interpretive centre?
Now residents have their choice of 5 different names for the Shania Centre and their choices are:
Shania Twain Experience
Shania Twain Centre
Shania Twain At Home
Shania Twain Music Centre
Shania Twain Interpretive Centre
Ballots with the choices have been inserted in the Timmins Daily Press newspaper for residents to vote for their choice. They will be accepted at the Timmins Museum until November 24th, midnight. City residents can also vote for the name by sending an email to tmnec@city.timmins.on.ca.
All ballots will be entered into a drawing for a prize package of Shania memorabilia and collectables. Remember, only city residents can vote!
